Please see below for a few reminders!
Dress for the Weather
During this time of year it’s important to remember to send your child to school dressed for the weather. We will only stay inside at this time of year over daily recess/lunch breaks if there outdoor conditions are unsafe (lightening and/or poor air quality). Please pack a good raincoat for your child to wear outside if/when rain is in the forecast. We ask that umbrellas do not come outside at recess times as they become a safety hazard when used whilst dancing, play fighting, running/jumping/climbing etc. On sunny days, please send your child to school with a good hat, water bottle and sunscreen so that they are safe during daily outdoor PE classes, learning activities and recess breaks.
Outdoor Lunches
This week we are trialing some outdoor lunches when the weather is fine. Students will be outside from 12:15 PM - 1:00 PM. They will eat for the first 15 minutes with their classes (on the compound in a shaded area) and then have play time over an extended area with additional supervisors outside. You can help outdoor lunches to go smoothly by reminding your child to practice eating mindfully (staying seating, engaging in friendly conversations and not sharing food).
Breakfast Pilot
Our breakfast pilot is going very well. Students are taking what they need, eating mindfully and disposing of their garbage each day. Now that each classroom has had a dedicated day to check out the fruit, grain and protein on offer, all students are welcome to “take what they need” from the breakfast cart each morning after entry. We have secured funding to continue this pilot through to the end of June, and continue to seek out opportunities for ongoing funding to offer breakfast items each day into the 2024-2025 school year for all students who need it.

- Grade 6 farewell at 1:30 PM (friends and families of our grade 6 students are invited to attend our celebration and send off)
