Good Afternoon Colonel Walker Families,

Yesterday we enjoyed jumping rope together outside before the snow started falling. All CWS students participated and had fun showing off the skipping they have practiced over the past month in PE and Wellness classes. A big thank you to Mrs. Clowes who supported our participation in the Jump Rope for Heart campaign this year!

Conferences

Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences are taking place Thursday March 21 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, and Friday March 22, from 8:30am – 12:30pm. Please bring your student(s) with you to these meetings so that they can participate in conversations about their learning and show you all the great work they are doing at school.

The conference manager is now closed. If you have not booked a conference but want to meet with your child’s teacher, please call Miss Tammy in the office 403-777-6780.

The front doors will be unlocked during conferences so please come in and make your way to your child’s classroom.  For conferences that are booked at 6:30pm on Thursday, please do not arrive before that time as the staff will be having a dinner break and classrooms will be closed.

Piitoayis Family School is hosting a resource fair in the gym on Thursday evening between 4:00- 7:00pm. Please note that whilst the food is provided for PFS families only, CWS families are invited to drop into the fair to discover agencies that offer services related to housing, mental health, food, cultural connections and more. Some of the agencies that will be present include: Trellis Society, The Summit, Aboriginal Friendship Centre, Muskenawah, Calgary Food Bank, Metis Calgary Family Services, Siksika Health Services, Canadian Red Cross, Closer to Home etc. There will also be a circle with Elders Clarence Wolfleg and Jackie Wolfleg and visitors are welcome to drop in and connect.

Lost and Found

It’s time to clear out our full and overflowing Lost and Found. Tables and racks will be set up in the main foyer during conferences this week, please make sure to check if something left behind belongs to you!  All items will be donated after the conferences- thank you to the parent volunteers who have stepped in to help with this important job.

Spring Break

Yes it is that time, even though it does not look that way.  There will be no school for students on Friday March 22, through to Monday April 1.  Classes will resume on Tuesday April 2, 2024.
